In a unexpected collaboration that breaks usual forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Disclosed

According to the formal statement, "A mysterious confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where hints of banned ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The storyline features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden cult.

The mission concentrates on "strange tests and a fearsome foe" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Transformations

The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a striking moment showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Prizes and Extra Features

Players who finish the mission will obtain an special katana in addition to several objects secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Third Free Story Update

This patch also adds the game's third no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

The series previously featured a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla informally featured a quest that unmistakably nodded to the well-known series One-Punch Man.
